Project – Hitachi – Botanica
Client – Blue Jelly
Scope of works – Electrical + Fire Alarm Design and Build Fit-Out
Programme length – 3 Months
The Hitachi – Botanica Ditton Park project involved the design and installation of a modern office space aimed at creating a flexible and inspiring work environment. Surrey Tech Services Ltd was appointed as the electrical and fire alarm contractor, tasked with delivering a high-standard, integrated electrical solution in collaboration with the main contractor. The project was completed successfully within a 12-week program, on time and within budget.
Surrey Tech Services Ltd’s role focused on providing tailored electrical systems that aligned with the vision of the design team of Blue Jelly Ltd while ensuring functionality and safety across the office space.
A key aspect of this project was the installation of high-end LED feature lighting throughout the workspace. This not only enhanced the aesthetics but also contributed to a modern, energising environment. We also relocated the existing general lighting system to optimise the new office layout. Our team ensured that all lighting lux levels for both general and emergency were carefully designed to meet client specifications, maintaining the overall vision of the workspace design.
To accommodate the new office layout, we installed a new small power bus bar system under the raised access floor to give the flexibility of distributing small power throughout the office. Electric floor boxes were installed to provide additional power outlets at desk areas, ensuring employees had convenient access to power for their devices. In addition, new power supplies were implemented for breakout areas and tea points, while extra mechanical supplies were installed to support the updated building infrastructure.
The existing fire alarm system was adapted to meet the updated office configuration. This included the relocation of smoke detectors and sounders, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations. Additional detection points were added to cover areas where the original system no longer provided adequate coverage due to the creation of new meeting
rooms.
Existing containment systems (such as surface-mounted trays and conduits) were carefully reconfigured to accommodate new electrical and fire alarm wiring. This adaptation allowed for the seamless integration of new lighting, small power and fire alarm systems, ensuring that the updated workspace remained both functional and compliant with safety standards.
The Hitachi – Botanica Ditton Park project demonstrates Surrey Tech Services Ltd’s ability to adapt and deliver tailored electrical solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Through close coordination with the main contractor and design teams, we ensured that all aspects of the electrical and fire alarm systems were aligned with the client’s vision and operational needs. The result is a flexible and modern office space that meets the demands of a contemporary working environment, showcasing Surrey Tech Services Ltd’s commitment to quality and our clients’ satisfaction.
